Himachal Pradesh is most visited tourist place and it is a best place for trekking and adventures activities. In Himachal, there are many trekking places which can be easy or difficult. There are some places listed for trekking in Himachal Pradesh.
1. Karol Tibba Trek, Solan
Krol Tibba is easy trek which is 11 Kms from Chambaghat (Solan). The best time to visit Karol Tibba is Monsoon because at that time Weather become pleasant and view become more attractive than usual. Krol Tibba is famous for Trekking and Kali Temple sitting at the top of the peak. Karol Tibba is the highest peak of Solan.
Famous Pandava cave is also located in Krol Tibba Peak. The Pandava Cave is the oldest and longest cave. The cave end point is believed in Pinjore. The cave is very dark and narrow so you are not allowed to go deep inside cave.
2. Churdhar Peak Trek, Sirmaur
Churdhar trek 14 to 16 Kms trek and it can be difficult for beginners. Churdhar Peak is also know as Chur Chandani and is visible from Kasauli, Shimla and Kufri. The best time to visit Churdhar Peak is May to November when snow melts and trails are accessible. You should take warm clothes and comfortable shoes as trek is long. This is the highest peak in the Sirmaur District.
3. Hatu Peak Trek, Shimla
Hatu Peak is famous because of Hatu temple which is a home of Hatu Mata, an incarnation of Kali. This temple is dedicated to Mandodari, wife of Ravan. Timing to visit Hatu Temple is 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Hatu Peak is 7 Kms from Narkanda Bus Stand. You can reach to Hatu Peak by your own vehicle, with cab or by trekking also. If you love trekking it will approximate take 2-3 Hrs according to your walking stamina. Hatu Peak will provide you the best view with dense trees covered with snow, if you visit in winter.
If you are thinking about Night Camping, you can bring your own tent or you can rent it out from nearby government garden which will cost you just 500 Rs. Spending night around dense forest will give you best experience.
4. Mahasu Peak Trek, Shimla
Mahasu Peak is the Highest peak in Kufri from where you can see the stunning view of Kedarnath and Badrinath. There are horse riding services to reach at the top of the Peak. The Best time to visit Mahsu Peak is in Winter when mountains are covered with snow. It is only 2 Kms hiking from Kufri through a thick forest.
When you reach at the top of the Peak there is a Naag Devta Temple which is also worth seeing. The entry fees per head is 10 rupees. Mule ride is 500 per head and Telescope fee 200 per head. Fees can be vary depending upon the season.
5. Triund Trek, Kangra
Most visited place in Dharamshala is Triund Hill. This is the best place for Trekkers and Adventure seekers. This is the most beautiful place in Dharamshala. Triund is 10 Kms from Dharamshala and approx. 7 Kms from McLeod Ganj.
May, June, September and October is the best time for trekking but if you want to trek in winter then January to March is best time as mountains are covered with thick layer of snow. Dharamkot is the Starting Point of Triund Trek and Triund is 9 Kms from Dharamkot. Although Triund trek is one day trek and it is not that difficult in first 5 Kms but after 5 Kms it is bit challenging yet exhilarating. During the trek, keep hydrate and have some snacks or energy drink.
6. Kheerganga Trek, Kullu
The trek is about 9 Kms and it is easy for beginners also. In Kheerganga, there is a Lord Shiva Temple. The water of Kheerganga is hot. The temple situated near the spring which believed to be ancient. The total time taken to complete the trek is depend upon your experience of walking. Normal person will complete this trek in 4-5 hours.
7. Hampta Pass Trek, Kullu
Hampta Pass Trek is 35 Kms long. This is the most popular trek not only in Himachal but also in India or all over the world. It will take 5 days to complete this trek which will also include Chandratal. This trek is best for those who have passion of mountaineering or trekking.
8. Beas Kund Trek, Kullu
Beas Kund Trek is one of the most famous trek place. Beas Kund is 14 Kms from Mananli Bus Stand and 3.5 Kms from Solang Valley. Beas Kund is a place where Beas River is originated. It is best camping spot and beautiful view of Peak. You need full day for Beas Kund so consider it as 3rd Day.
Beas Kund trek will take 2-3 Days so plan Accordingly. If you are coming with family avoid this place as it might very difficult for your family to travel. But if you are planing a friends trip you guys surely have to visit. This will the best time after Solang valley Adventure.
9. Markha Valley Trek, Ladakh
Markha Trek take 6 days to complete 68 Kms trek. June and September is the best time for Markha Trek. It is known for its beautiful river valleys and Buddhist heritage, the trek provides an unforgettable glimpse into the vibrant culture and rugged beauty of Ladakh.
10. Pin Parvati Pass Trek
The most difficult trek of Himachal Pradesh is Pin Parvati Pass Trek. It’s a challenging trek, ideal for experienced hikers, and provides a once-in-a-lifetime experience of traversing between contrasting landscapes—from the verdant Kullu Valley to the arid, moon-like terrain of Spiti.
